Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The wealthiest of people in this world, from among the dwellers of Fire, will be brought on the Day of Judgment and dipped once in the Fire then he will be asked: O son of Adam, Have you ever witnessed any goodness? Have you ever experienced any bliss? He will say: O Lord, by Allah I have not. Then, the most miserable of people in this world, from among the dwellers of Paradise, will be dipped once in Paradise then he will be asked: O son of Adam, have you ever witnessed any misery? Have you ever experienced any hardship? He will say: No by Allah, I have never witnessed any misery nor have I experienced any hardship.”
Narrated by MuslimOn the Day of Judgment, the one who led the most luxurious life in this world, from among the dwellers of Fire, will be brought and immersed in Hell. Its heat, blaze and scorching fire will make him forget all the worldly pleasures that he enjoyed before. At that point, his Lord, who knows best about his state, will ask him if he has ever witnessed or experienced any goodness or bliss, and he will reply in the negative. On the other hand, the one who led the most miserable life in this world, a life of poverty and need, from among the dwellers of Paradise, will be brought and immersed once in Paradise. The inexpressible joy and pleasure that he finds therein will make him forget all the bitterness, misery, poverty and hardship that he had experienced. His Lord, who knows best about his state, will then ask him if he has ever witnessed or experienced any misery or hardship and he will reply in the negative.
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was informed about something regarding his Companions, so he delivered a sermon and said: "Paradise and Hellfire were presented to me, and I have never seen anything like today in terms of good and evil. If you knew what I know, you would laugh little and weep much." He said: The Companions of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) did not experience a day more difficult than that. He said: They covered their heads and made sounds of grief. He said: Then ‘Umar stood up and said: We are pleased with Allah as a Lord, with Islam as a religion, and with Muhammad as a Prophet. He said: Then that man stood up and said: Who is my father? He said: "Your father is so-and-so." Then the following verse was revealed: {O you who believe, do not ask about things that, if they were made known to you, would only cause you hardship.} [Surat al-Mā’idah: 101]
Agreed uponThe Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was informed about something regarding his Companions, namely that they had been asking him too many questions, and he became upset and delivered a speech and said: Paradise and Hellfire were presented to me; I have never seen anything as good as what I saw today in Paradise, nor as evil as what I saw today in Hellfire. If you had seen what I saw and knew what I knew from what I saw today and before, you would have felt great compassion, and your laughter would have been few and your crying would have been abundant. Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: There was no day harder for his Companions than that day. They covered their heads, and there was a sound of weeping, with a nasal tone coming from their noses due to the intensity of their crying. ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and said: We are pleased with Allah as a Lord, with Islam as a religion, and with Muhammad as a Prophet. He said: Then that man stood up and said: Who is my father? He said: "Your father is so-and-so." Then the following verse was revealed: {O you who believe, do not ask about things which, if they are made known to you, would only cause you hardship.} [Surat al-Mā’idah: 101]
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said concerning the verse: {You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind} [Sūrat Āl-‘Imrān: 110]: He said: ''The best people to people are those who bring them with chains in their necks until they enter Islam.'' He also reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah, Glorified and Exalted, wonders at those people who will enter Paradise in chains.”
Narrated by Bukhari & MuslimAllah, Glorified and Exalted, wonders at some people who are led to Paradise in chains. They were from the disbelievers whom the Muslims took as captives in Jihad. Then they embraced Islam, and thus their conversion led them to Paradise. The second Hadīth explains the first Hadīth, which is a Mawqūf report. According to the tradition narrated by Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), those who took the captives belong to the best nation that was brought out to people, for they were the reason behind the guidance of those captives. He started his speech with the noble verse, for it demonstrates the goodness of the Muslim Ummah.
Abu Mūsa al-Ash‘ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Two gardens, the utensils and the contents of which are of silver; two other gardens, the utensils and the contents of which are of gold. Nothing will prevent people from looking at their Lord except the veil of pride over His Face in the Garden of Eden.”
Narrated by Bukhari & MuslimThis Hadīth indicates the different degrees and levels in Paradise; some of which are higher than others literally and metaphorically. While some parts are built in gold, others will be in silver. Granted, gold is the most valuable metal for those addressed with the Qur'an when it was revealed. It is possible that Paradise has things more precious than gold, because Allah, the Almighty, said that Paradise contains things that have never been seen, heard of, or imagined. At the beginning of some narrations of this Hadīth, it is mentioned: “The gardens of Firdaus are four: two of gold...” The rest of the Hadīth indicates that nothing will prevent people from looking at their Lord except the veil of pride over His Face in the Garden of Eden. This is a clear indication that people will see Allah. If Allah wants to bless them with more honor, He will lift the veil of divine pride from His face to let them see Him. Followers of the Sunnah affirm that Allah has a veil of pride, and that the believers will see their Lord in Paradise, without explaining how, drawing similarities, and without distorting the texts or excluding their indications. Likewise, they affirm that Allah has a face that fits His majesty. It is not permissible to interpret any of these concepts, or deviate them from their apparent indications. This is the belief of the righteous predecessors.
Abu Sa‘īd al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Verily, in Paradise, there is a tree that the rider of a lean, swift horse would travel for a hundred years without reaching its end."
Agreed uponThe Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informed that in Paradise, there is a tree under which a rider on a horse, prepared for fast racing, would travel for a hundred years without reaching the end of its branches.
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Verily, in Paradise there is a market to which they will come every Friday. The north wind will blow, scattering its breeze on their faces and clothes, increasing them in charm and beauty. Then they return to their families, having increased in charm and beauty; their families will say to them: By Allah, you have increased in charm and beauty after us. They will then say: And you, by Allah, have increased in charm and beauty after us."
Narrated by MuslimThe Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informed that in Paradise, there is a place where they gather, and it is not for buying or selling. They take from it whatever they wish. They go there once every seven days, and the northern wind blows, refreshing their faces and clothes, making them more beautiful and charming. When they return to their families, they have become even more charming and beautiful. Their families will say to them: By Allah, you have become even more beautiful and charming since we last saw you. They will reply: And you, by Allah, have become even more beautiful and charming since we last saw you.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any Muslim who loses (to death) three children before reaching puberty will be admitted by Allah into Paradise because of his being merciful to them."
Narrated by BukhariIf a Muslim loses three small children, whether they were male or female, before they reach the age of puberty, then that will be a reason for the parent to enter Paradise.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, said: I have prepared for My righteous slaves what no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard, and no human heart has ever imagined," Abu Hurayrah said: Recite, if you wish: {No soul knows what delights are kept hidden for them.} [Surat as-Sajdah: 17]
Agreed uponThe Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informed that Allah Almighty said: I have prepared and made ready, as an honor for My righteous slaves in Paradise, that the essence of which no eye has ever seen, the description of which no ear has ever heard, and the reality of which has never occurred to the heart of any human being. Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Recite, if you wish: {No soul knows what delights are kept hidden for them.} [Surat as-Sajdah: 17]
‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A woman was tormented because of a cat which she had kept locked up until it died, and she was thrown into Hell for that. She neither gave it food or drink when she locked it up nor freed it so that it would eat from the vermin of the earth."
Narrated by Bukhari & MuslimIn this Hadīth, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) told about a woman who was thrown into Hell – we seek refuge with Allah from it – because of a cat which she kept locked up until it died. She neither provided it with food and water while keeping it locked up, nor let it eat from the insects of the earth. If this is the punishment for doing this to animals, so how severe would it be in relation to the human being whose life is inviolable under Shariah, and whom Allah placed under one's care, like the wife, children, servants, etc.?!
