Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The first group to enter Paradise will be like the full moon on its brightest night, and those who will follow them will be like the brightest shining star in the sky. They will not urinate, defecate, spit, or blow their noses. Their combs will be of gold, and their sweat will smell like musk. Their censers will be the aloes-wood and their wives will be the houris. All of them will look alike and will resemble their father Adam, sixty cubits tall."
Agreed uponThe Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informed that the first group of believers to enter Paradise will have faces that shine like the full moon on its brightest night, followed by those who are as radiant as the most luminous stars in the sky. They will have attributes of perfection, as they will not urinate, defecate, spit, or blow their noses. Their combs will be made of gold, their sweat will smell like musk, and their incense burners will emit the finest fragrances. Their spouses will be the houris, and they will be created with a unified appearance, resembling their father Adam in form and height—sixty cubits tall in stature.
‘Ubādah ibn as-Sāmit (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In Paradise, there are a hundred degrees; the distance between each two degrees is like the distance between the heavens and the earth. The highest of them in degree is Al-Firdaws, and from it flow the four rivers of Paradise, and above it is the Throne. So when you ask Allah, ask Him for Al-Firdaws."
Narrated by At-TirmidhiThe Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informed that in the Paradise of the Hereafter, there are one hundred degrees and ranks. The distance between each two degrees is like the distance between the heavens and the earth. The highest of these gardens is that of Al-Firdaws, from which the four rivers of Paradise flow, and above Al-Firdaws is the Throne. So when you ask Allah, ask Him for Al-Firdaws, as it is above all the other gardens.
Al-Mughīrah ibn Shu‘bah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A group of my Ummah will continue to be victorious until Allah's command comes while they are victorious."
Agreed uponThe Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informed that there will always remain a group from my Ummah who will prevail over the people, dominant over those who oppose them. This will continue until the command of Allah comes to take their souls at the end of time, before the advent of the Hour.
‘Imrān ibn Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best of you are my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them." ‘Imrān said: I do not know whether the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned two or three generations. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Verily, after you, there will come people who will betray and will not be trustworthy, testify without being called to give testimony, make vows but not fulfill them, and obesity will be widespread among them."
Agreed uponThe Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informed that the best group of people living in the same era are the generation of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions. Then come those who follow them of the believers who met the Companions but did not meet the Messenger of Allah. Then those who follow them, the followers of the Tābi‘is. The Companion hesitated in mentioning whether the fourth generation was also included. Then the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: After them will come a people who betray and people will not trust them, who testify before being asked to give testimony, who make vows but do not fulfill them, and who indulge excessively in food and drink until obesity becomes widespread among them.
Abu Tha‘labah al-Khushani Jurthūm ibn Nāshir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has enjoined obligations, so do not violate them; He has set limits, so do not transgress them; He has forbidden things, so do not commit them; and He has kept silent about things out of mercy for you, not out of forgetfulness, so do not search for them."
Narrated by: Ad-Daaraqutni in his Sunan and othersThe Prophet (ﷺ) informs that Allah has prescribed things and ordained obligations, and so fulfill them and do not neglect or fail to perform them; He has set certain limits and deterrents to restrain and deter you from what is not pleasing to Him; so do not exceed them by doing things not prescribed by the Shariah; and He has forbidden things, so do not engage in them or come close to them. Apart from these, there are things about which He kept silent out of mercy toward His servants. They remain permissible as they were originally, so do not search for them.
Abu Muhammad al-Hasan ibn ‘Ali ibn Abi Tālib—the grandson of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and his beloved— reported: I memorized from the words of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): "Leave what you doubt for what you do not doubt."
Narrated by At-Tirmidhi and An-Nasā’iThe Prophet (ﷺ) enjoined us to leave the words and deeds we are doubtful about, whether they are prohibited or not, lawful or unlawful—to things we are not doubtful about, and their goodness and lawfulness are certain.
Abu Ya‘la Shaddād ibn Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Indeed, Allah has enjoined Ihsān (kindness/excellence) in all things. So, when you kill, kill with kindness; and when you slaughter, slaughter with kindness. Let one of you sharpen his blade and spare the animal he slaughters suffering."
Narrated by MuslimThe Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informs that Allah Almighty prescribed ihsān (kindness/excellence) upon us in everything. Ihsān: It is constantly being heedful of Allah in worshipping Him, doing good, and abstaining from harming other created beings. An aspect of this is ihsān in killing and slaughtering. Ihsān in killing, for legal retribution, is to choose the easiest method which causes the least suffering to the one being killed and the quickest in taking his life. Ihsān in slaughtering animals is to show kindness toward the animal by sharpening the blade and not sharpening it while the animal is looking on, and not slaughtering an animal while another animal is looking.
Abu Mālik al-Hārith ibn ‘Āsim al-Ash‘ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Purity is half of faith, al-hamdulillāh (praise be to Allah) fills the Scale, and subhānallāh wa al-hamdulillāh (glory and praise be to Allah) fills what is between the heavens and the earth. Prayer is light, charity is proof, patience is radiance, and the Qur’an is an argument either for you or against you. Every person goes out in the morning and sells his soul; he either saves it from doom or throws it into destruction."
Narrated by MuslimThe Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) says that outward purification is attained by ablution and washing up, and it is required for prayer. And saying "al-hamdulillāh" fills the Scale. This is to praise Allah and ascribe the attributes of perfection to Him. This will be weighed on the Day of Judgment and fill the Scale of deeds. Saying "subhān Allah wa al-hamdulillāh" - which exalts Allah far above all deficiencies and ascribes to Him the complete perfection that befits His majesty, along with loving and extolling Him - fills what is between the heavens and the earth. "Prayer is light" for a person within his heart, on his face, in his grave, and on the Day of Judgment. "Charity is proof" and evidence for the sincerity of a believer's faith and it sets him apart from the hypocrite, who refrains from giving charity because he does not believe in the reward promised in return for it. "Patience is radiance," by refraining from exasperation and indignation, is radiance, which is light that comes with heat and burning, like the light of the sun. This is because patience is difficult and requires self-struggle and restraining oneself from one's desires. So, a patient person continues to have light and adhere to guidance and the right path. Patience is shown in observing Allah's commands, avoiding His prohibitions, and enduring afflictions and different forms of hardships in this world. And "the Qur’an is proof either for you," by reciting and acting upon it, or "against you," for abandoning it, without application or recitation. Then, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned that all people work and go about, and they get up from their sleep and go out for their different activities. Some of them hold onto obedience to Allah and thus save themselves from Hellfire. And some others deviate from that and commit sins, which ruin them by leading them to Hellfire.
Abu Sa‘īd Sa‘d ibn Mālik ibn Sinān al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "There should be no harm or reciprocal harm."
Narrated by Ibn Mājah, Ad-Dāraquṭnī, and others with a connected chainThe Prophet (ﷺ) pointed out that we should avert harm from ourselves and from others in all its kinds and manifestations. It is equally impermissible for anyone to harm himself or others. It is also not permissible to respond to harm with harm, for harm will not be removed with harm except by way of legal retribution, without transgression.
